Kingdom Prayer

Lesson 01 — Kingdom Worship

Part 1 — Eight Biblical Keys to Kingdom Worship

“Kingdom” Defined:

  1. A realm or region in which someone or something is ___________________.
  2. An area or sphere in which one holds a preeminent ________________.
  3. The eternal __________________ of God.
  4. The realm in which God’s ________ is ________________.

Kingdom Worship: A Biblical Overview

Scripture:
Do you see what we’ve got? An unshakable kingdom! And do you see how thankful we must be? Not only thankful, but brimming with worship, deeply reverent before God. For God is not an indifferent bystander. He’s actively cleaning house, torching all that needs to burn, and he won’t quit until it’s all cleansed. God himself is Fire! — Hebrews 12:28-29 (MSG)

Staying with it—that’s what God requires. Stay with it to the end. You won’t be sorry, and you’ll be saved. All during this time, the good news—the Message of the kingdom—will be preached all over the world, a witness staked out in every country. And then the end will come. — Matthew 24:13-14 (MSG)

“You are Peter, a rock. This is the rock on which I will put together my church, a church so expansive with energy that not even the gates of hell will be able to keep it out. And that’s not all. You will have complete and free access to God’s kingdom, keys to open any and every door: no more barriers between heaven and earth, earth and heaven. A yes on earth is yes in heaven. A no on earth is no in heaven.” — Matthew 16:18-19 (MSG)

Kingdom Keys to Kingdom Worship

1. Key Number One: Kingdom Worship Is . . . God-___________________.

“Celebrate” Defined: “To __________ by festivities or other deviation from  __________________; to take part or _____________ in a festive manner.”

Scripture:
People of all nations, celebrate God! All colors and races, give hearty praise! — Romans 15:11 (MSG)

The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light. For those who lived in a land of deep shadows—light! sunbursts of light! You repopulated the nation, you expanded its joy. Oh, they’re so glad in your presence! Festival joy! The joy of a great celebration, sharing rich gifts and warm greetings. — Isaiah 9:2-3 (MSG)

Let those on the hunt for you sing and celebrate. Let all who love your saving way say over and over, “God is mighty!” — Psalm 70:4 (MSG)

Let all Israel celebrate their Sovereign Creator, Zion’s children exult in their King. Let them praise his name in dance; strike up the band and make great music! And why? Because God delights in his people, festoons plain folk with salvation garlands! — Psalm 149:2-4 (MSG)

God, you are my God. I celebrate you. I praise you. You’ve done your share of miracle-wonders, well-thought-out plans, solid and sure. — Isaiah 25:1 (MSG)

2. Key Number Two: Kingdom Worship Is . . . Christ-_____________________.

“Dominate” Defined: “To rule or _____________; to exert the supreme determining or guiding _______________ on somebody or something.”

Scripture:
So, my dear Christian friends, companions in following this call to the heights, take a good hard look at Jesus. He’s the centerpiece of everything we believe, faithful in everything God gave him to do. — Hebrews 3:1 (MSG)

We look at this Son and see the God who cannot be seen. We look at this Son and see God’s original purpose in everything created. For everything, absolutely everything, above and below, visible and invisible, rank after rank after rank of angels—everything got started in him and finds its purpose in him. —Colossians 1:15-18 (MSG)

3. Key Number Three: Kingdom Worship Is . . . Spirit- ________________.

“Initiate” Defined: “To cause or facilitate the __________________ of something; to set someone or something ____________; to make ______________.”

Scripture:
But when they deliver you up, do not worry about how or what you should speak. For it will be given to you in that hour what you should speak; for it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you. — Matthew 10:19-20 (NKJV)

However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. — John 16:13-14 (NKJV)

I will talk to the Father, and he’ll provide you another Friend so that you will always have someone with you. This Friend is the Spirit of Truth. The godless world can’t take him in because it doesn’t have eyes to see him, doesn’t know what to look for. But you know him already because he has been staying with you, and will even be in you! — John 14:16-17 (MSG)

While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.” So after they had fasted and prayed, they placed their hands on them and sent them off. — Acts 13:2-3 (NIV)

4. Key Number Four: Kingdom Worship Is . . . Word- __________________.

“Saturate” Defined: “To ________ completely with something; to load to ______________. An overwhelming ____________________.”

Scripture:
Every part of Scripture is God-breathed and useful one way or another—showing us truth, exposing our rebellion, correcting our mistakes, training us to live God’s way. Through the Word we are put together and shaped up for the tasks God has for us. — 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (MSG)

Then the word of God spread, and the number of the disciples multiplied greatly in Jerusalem, and a great many of the priests were obedient to the faith. — Acts 6:7 (NKJV)

As for Saul, he made havoc of the church, entering every house, and dragging off men and women, committing them to prison. Therefore those who were scattered went everywhere preaching the word. — Acts 8:3-4 (NKJV)

But the word of God grew and multiplied. — Acts 12:24 (NKJV)

Now when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad and glorified the word of the Lord… And the word of the Lord was being spread throughout all the region. — Acts 13:48-49 (NKJV)

And many who had believed came confessing and telling their deeds… So the word of the Lord grew mightily and prevailed. — Acts 19:18, 20 (NKJV)

God means what he says. What he says goes. His powerful Word is sharp as a surgeon’s scalpel, cutting through everything, whether doubt or defense, laying us open to listen and obey. Nothing and no one is impervious to God’s Word. We can’t get away from it—no matter what. — Hebrews 4:12-13 (MSG)

AFTERTHOUGHTS… PONDER AND PRAY

Ponder Points: Discuss (or ponder) what you think it means to celebrate God. Why is Christ the “supreme determining and guiding influence” in all our praying? What do you think Jesus meant when he said, “Ask anything in my name, and I will do it”?

Prayer Points: Take a few moments in prayer and praise to “celebrate God” with your words of adoration. Tell God why you desire to celebrate His presence and person. Ask the Holy Spirit to initiate in you an anointing to make you a true kingdom worshiper.

Part 2 — Eight Biblical Keys to Kingdom Worship (Continued)

Kingdom Keys to Kingdom Worship (continued)

5. Key Number Five: Kingdom Worship Is . . . Praise- ____________________.

“Permeate” Defined: “To ____________ or diffuse throughout; to fully __________________ something.”
(From the Latin permeates — to go through.)

Scripture:
Then I looked, and, oh!—a door open into Heaven. The trumpet-voice, the first voice in my vision, called out, “Ascend and enter. I’ll show you what happens next.” I was caught up at once in deep worship and, oh!—a Throne set in Heaven with One Seated on the Throne… — Revelation 4:1-2 (MSG)

Each of these living beings had six wings, and their wings were covered with eyes, inside and out. Day after day and night after night they keep on saying, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty—the one who always was, who is, and who is still to come.” — Revelation 4:8 (NLT)

In the year King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord. He was sitting on a lofty throne, and the train of his robe filled the Temple. Hovering around him were mighty seraphim, each with six wings. With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with the remaining two they flew. In a great chorus they sang, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty! The whole earth is filled with his glory!” The glorious singing shook the Temple to its foundations, and the entire sanctuary was filled with smoke. — Isaiah 6:1-4 (NLT)

6. Key Number Six: Kingdom Worship Is . . . Prayer- ____________________.

“Accelerate” Defined: “To cause to move ______________; to _____________ the progress or development of something; to gain ____________.”

Scripture:
One more thing, friends: Pray for us. Pray that the Master’s Word will simply take off and race through the country to a ground-swell of response, just as it did among you. — 2 Thessalonians 3:1 (MSG)

After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly… With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and much grace was upon them all. — Acts 4:31, 33 (NIV)

…The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working]. — James 5:16b (AMPC)

7. Key Number Seven: Kingdom Worship Is . . . Faith- ____________________.

“Activate” Defined: “To make ______________ or more active; to release something into ____________________ or action; to cause something to be ________________ in an action or activity.”

Scripture:
He told them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field. Though it is the smallest of all your seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and perch in its branches.” — Matthew 13:31-32 (NIV)

Now faith is the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses]. — Hebrews 11:1 (AMPC)

When Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to him, asking for help. “Lord,” he said, “my servant lies at home paralyzed and in terrible suffering.” Jesus said to him, “I will go and heal him.” The centurion replied, “Lord, I do not deserve to have you come under my roof. But just say the word, and my servant will be healed… When Jesus heard this, he was astonished and said to those following him, “I tell you the truth, I have not found anyone in Israel with such great faith… Then Jesus said to the centurion, “Go! It will be done just as you believed it would.” And his servant was healed at that very hour. — Matthew 8:5-8, 10, 13 (NIV)

8. Key Number Eight: Kingdom Worship Is . . . Harvest- ____________________.

“Motivate” Defined: “To stimulate to _____________; a driving __________ that compels or __________ one to involvement in a ___________ or action.”

Scripture:
At daybreak Jesus went out to a solitary place. The people were looking for him and when they came to where he was, they tried to keep him from leaving them. But he said, “I must preach the good news of the kingdom of God to the other towns also, because that is why I was sent.” — Luke 4:42-43 (NIV)

He continued according to plan, traveled to town after town, village after village, preaching God’s kingdom, spreading the Message. — Luke 8:1 (MSG)

Jesus now called the Twelve and gave them authority and power to deal with all the demons and cure diseases. He commissioned them to preach the news of God’s kingdom and heal the sick. — Luke 9:1-2 (MSG)

The seventh angel sounded his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, which said: “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he will reign for ever and ever.” — Revelation 11:15 (NIV)

AFTERTHOUGHTS… PONDER AND PRAY

Ponder Points: Discuss (or ponder) why it is so important to permeate our prayers with praise. Why do you feel it is so important that Kingdom worship be harvest-motivated?

Prayer Points: In these moments of prayer, take time to focus on God’s harvest somewhere in your neighborhood, our nation or a distant nation. Declare the praises of God over your prayers for the harvest.
