“The one concern of the devil is to keep Christians from praying. He fears nothing from prayerless studies, prayerless work and prayerless religion. He laughs at our toil, mocks at our wisdom, but trembles when we pray.” — Samuel Chadwick

A. Satan’s __________

Scripture:
Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. — Ephesians 6:11-12 (NLT)

B. Satan’s _________________

Scripture:
Then he said, “Don’t be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day you began to pray for understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your request has been heard in heaven. I have come in answer to your prayer. But for twenty-one days the spirit prince of the kingdom of Persia blocked my way. Then Michael, one of the archangels, came to help me, and I left him there with the spirit prince of the kingdom of Persia. — Daniel 10:12-13 (NLT)

C. Satan’s ______________________

Scripture:
Some time later Samson fell in love with a woman named Delilah, who lived in the valley of Sorek. The rulers of the Philistines went to her and said, “Entice Samson to tell you what makes him so strong and how he can be overpowered and tied up securely. Then each of us will give you 1,100 pieces of silver.” So Delilah said to Samson, “Please tell me what makes you so strong and what it would take to tie you up securely”… She tormented him with her nagging day after day until he was sick to death of it. Finally, Samson shared his secret with her. “My hair has never been cut,” he confessed, “for I was dedicated to God as a Nazirite from birth. If my head were shaved, my strength would leave me, and I would become as weak as anyone else.” — Judges 16:4-6, 16-17 (NLT)

Afterthoughts...Ponder and Pray

Ponder Points:
Discuss (or ponder) why sin is so deadly to the effectiveness of the prayer life of the believer. Why should the believer who does commit a sin realize that he or she still has a right to come before the Lord in prayer?

Prayer Points:
Ask the Lord to give you more authority in prayer to constrain the activity of Satan, both in your life and in the lives of others you know. Include your pastor and others in authority as you pray.
